The redevelopment of the Old Post Office into the new Fashion Museum Bath (FMB) represented a significant cultural investment, combining the sensitive adaptation of a historic site with an ambitious vision for public engagement, collections care and contemporary museum operations.
As part of a series of projects to safeguard their collections, Mortice were brought in to support Hartlepool Museums and Archives address the challenge faced by many cultural organisations – the lack of sufficient, suitable collections storage that meets professional standards while still supporting day‑to‑day operational needs.
When the Trustees of Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust (CHDT) approved their Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2022-26, they set out an ambitious vision; to reach net zero by 2050, restore and enhance biodiversity across their heritage estate, and embed sustainable thinking into their ways of working.
Mortice were appointed to support the River & Rowing Museum (RRM) at a critical moment in its lifecycle. With the main museum building over two decades old, RRM recognised that significant elements of its estate and infrastructure were approaching the end of their operational life.
In the summer of 2019, Mortice were commissioned by the British Film Institute to support the first phase of their Visitor Experience Project. The BFI recognised that to move from good to great, they needed to provide a safe forum to listen to their their staff, who shape their organisation every day.
