Building a Robust Consultancy Framework for the BM

Professional Services Consultancy Framework for the British Museum

The British Museum required a new Professional Services Consultancy Framework (PSCF) that could support its wide‑ranging and highly specialist operational needs. The challenge was to design and deliver a fully compliant framework capable of attracting high‑quality expertise across multiple areas, while navigating a complex public procurement environment.

Mortice was appointed to manage the full end‑to‑end procurement process, due to their extensive experience in the sector. The objective was not only to deliver a compliant framework, but one that was robust, market‑tested and practical for long‑term use by the Museum, and its internal teams.

Our Approach

Mortice successfully managed the full procurement process on behalf of the British Museum throughout the development of its new Professional Services Consultancy Framework. Our approach focused on delivering a clear, compliant and market‑appropriate structure that aligned with the Museum’s operational needs while remaining flexible for future use.

We supported the Museum across all key stages of the procurement, coordinating stakeholder input, managing supplier engagement and ensuring robust governance at every step. By applying a consistent and transparent approach, we helped the Museum navigate a complex process with confidence.

Through careful management of evaluation, approvals and award, Mortice ensured the resulting framework was commercially sound, legally robust and populated by high‑quality suppliers. The final PSCF provides the Museum with long‑term access to specialist expertise through a framework that is practical, reliable and easy to operate.
